What should I expect on my first visit?
Your first visit will consist of a consultation in which Dr. Malba will discuss your health concerns and goals. He will then perform a thorough examination to include balance testing, orthopedic testing, neurological testing, postural assessment and spinal analysis to locate spinal misalignments (subluxations) and assess nerve involvement. Our goal is to identify the root cause of your problem. If necessary, Dr. Malba will order the appropriate x-rays to better understand your issue.
How long will it take to feel better?
Healing is unique for every person. Some patients report improvement after their first adjustment, while others may take more time. Results depend on how long the issue has been present, how the body adapted or compensated for the issue and how consistently the care plan is followed.
Is chiropractic care safe?
Yes. Chiropractic adjustments are gentle and non-invasive. Dr. Malba is board certified and uses techniques that are appropriate for all ages and conditions, including infants, pregnant women and seniors. Chiropractors undergo extensive training and adhere to strict standards of practice to ensure the safety and well-being of their patients.
Does it hurt to get adjusted?
Adjustments are typically gentle. Some patients may have some mild soreness after their first few adjustments as the body adapts to a better alignment. This is like the feeling after beginning a new workout routine. This is temporary and a normal part of the healing process.
Do I have to be in pain to get adjusted?
No. Many patients come in for wellness and prevention on a consistent basis to improve the function of the body and nervous system. Chiropractic focuses more on function than symptoms. Many spinal issues begin to develop before any pain is present. It’s important to get to the root cause before it turns into pain, similar to getting your teeth checked for cavities.
